Last weekend I went to Kerikeri north island champs as we arrived in Kerikeri the forecast was nearly perfect for me a range of 3-9 knots and
On Saturday, there were 5-11 knots, and it was a hot day, and I didn’t have an excellent first half of the day. I was making some very silly mistakes that let me down in the light breezes, but after lunch, I saw a considerable improvement after the breeze increased by 2 knots.
On Sunday the breeze filled a little bit more than Saturday, and we headed out further out into the bay for some better racing. There was a more significant swell, but the wind was shifty and up and down. I took some warming up, but I had a first. I tried to replicate it the next race, but the wind had changed, and I had a fifth after making some mistakes. We started the next race, and after realising my mistakes I had a great start of the race, but on the third leg, the race got cancelled because of the light wind.
My final placing was 7th overall out of 11 and 1st girl.
